Air Data Computers

An Air Data Computer (ADC) is an electronic device used in aircraft to measure and compute various air data parameters. It collects information of different sensors, such as pitot tubes, static ports, and temperature probes, to determine critical flight parameters like calibrated airspeed (CAS), true airspeed (TAS), pressure altitude, vertical speed, Mach number, total air temperature (TAT) and static air temperature (SAT).

The computed air data parameters are used by various systems in the aircraft, including the flight control system, autopilot, navigation systems, and displays. This information is crucial for safe and efficient flight operations.

All Air Data Computers are calibrated in Simtec's pressure laboratory, which is equipped with high-precision pressure calibrators and temperature chambers. Simtec is one of the few companies that can offer high-precision, low-speed sensors that operate reliably and accurately at extreme temperatures of -55°C and +80°C.

Air Data Computers from Simtec are used in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), Tactical UAVs, MALE UAVs, High Altitude Pseudo Satellites (HASP) around the world. Thanks to its extensive experience in the development of lightweight, small, energy-efficient and highly accurate air data computers and integrated multifunction air data systems, Simtec has been able to take a leading role in the eVTOL field.
